Assignment #1

Hello everyone my name is Scott Laslo and I am a Welding instructor at the Delaware area career center. I have been teaching now for two years and have found that it is a very rewarding profession. I have a four year old son and my wife and I are expecting our second child in September. (Yeah!!!) Oh no!!!! more STRESS!!!)
In regards to this class I hope to build a class website that will demonstrate what the students are learning, but also show the students that I have a human side as well. I would like to get my class involved as far as helping me with the content of the website. I will need some help with getting the site up and running, but should be pretty cool when finished.

I commented on Janet's blog

I also replied to mrs. C's blog (Peg) and answered her questions on mine

Hey Scott!

Wow, you are a busy man. Congratulations on the upcoming addition to your family! I'll be interested in watching your posts and seeing how you do with this course. I know from having past courses with you that you make welding sound very interesting. Do you already have a particular idea in mind as to what your website might contain? Will it be based on your classroom information? By the way your movie from last quarter was great!

As far as a website, I'm not sure which direction I want to go yet. I'm leaning towards a mixture of a site that is informational and a site that would be appealing to a teenager. (fun) Hope the students can help me with that.

Thanks for the nice complement about the movie.

Scott,

Great that you are doing a site on the class. Will you show pictures of projects the students are working on? Would be great to share with other career centers.
